LADIES HIGH SHERIFF LUNCHEON
ROYAL THAMES YACHT CLUB, 60 KNIGHTSBRIDGE, LONDON

The Annual Ladies Luncheon, organised this year by Elizabeth Mills, The High Sheriff of Rutland.

The lunch is organised primarily for High Sheriffs in Nomination to meet with and talk to High Sheriffs in Office. I found this event very useful last year (held at a different venue). I met a lot of people I had seen last year and at subsequent events. It is such a good opportunity to share experiences and exchange ideas.

There is always a speaker and this year Elizabeth Mills introduced Mrs Pat Dubas, Principal of The Samworth Enterprise Academy in Leicester. This is a Church of England School and there is a Church situated in the school. Pat has been involved with the Academy from its inception two years ago. The Academy is located in an area of social deprivation, attended by children from numerous races and aged between 3 and 17. It has been a huge success.

Everyone was inspired by all that she told us and my comment to her was "if only she could tour the country telling people what has been achieved and how it has been done"
